Ben Nolan's First Feature Film: "AccepTance" (2025) Released On YouTube

Ben Nolan's debut feature film AccepTance is an independent 2025 documentary about the transgender experience that was produced, directed and co-edited by Nolan. Experimentally posing the interviews in a conversational manner rather than a typical spliced-documentary style allows the interviewees to speak for themselves rather than having the filmmaker speak for them. Nolan travelled through 2 hemispheres, 3 continents and 4 countries in order to get trans voices from all around the world properly represented in this film. These interviews accompanied with music by transgender artists, interpretative transitions between interviews and a showcase of paintings by transgender artists at the end of the film sets AccepTance apart from other films that may attempt to capture its level of representation and articulation of the trans experience.
